WHAT IS Restylane?
With advancements being made in the aesthetic industry every day, it's now easier than ever to receive a rejuvenated, youthful appearance without having to consider invasive surgery. Injectables can add lift, volume, and fullness to the face for patients with a variety of different cosmetic goals. To accommodate the unique concerns of many women and men, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Joseph Tamburrino provides a wide range of dermal filler treatments. Each brand we carry can help to improve facial aging by addressing wrinkles, lines, and lost volume. Among the types of injectables we carry, Restylane is a popular brand of dermal fillers because it treats many issues by utilizing different formulas for results that last. It's made with a synthetic version of the body's natural HA (hyaluronic acid), giving the complexion a softer, natural look that is fuller and more supple. A dermal filler-focused treatment plan can treat mild to severe facial lines and wrinkles, as well as add volume to the lips and mid-face.

WHO CAN GET RESTYLANE?
Restylane injectable treatments are great for any woman or man over the age of 21 who desires to rejuvenate their overall appearance. Since it has several formulas, your treatment plan will be customized to meet your unique goals and needs. Restylane can address the initial signs of aging, including fine facial lines, or increase the fullness in your cheeks and lips. It may also treat severe wrinkles, like laugh lines, frown lines, Crow's feet, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and more. Certain formulas contain lidocaine so you will need to disclose any allergies during your pre-treatment consultation with Dr. Tamburrino to avoid an adverse reaction.
HOW DOES RESTYLANE WORK?
Restylane treatments take place in the treatment room at Prestige Institute for Plastic Surgery. A numbing cream can be applied for greater comfort if desired. The filler is injected into the skin through a fine needle and massaged so that it properly fills the selected areas. Multiple injections may be administered, followed by a cold compress to decrease inflammation. Each Restylane formulation is distributed into the skin utilizing the same method. The only difference is the injection sites, which will be based on your unique concerns and aesthetic aims.
What to Expect
Once your Restylane procedure is complete, you can return to work. Your recovery timeframe will depend on what is being treated so talk to your injector about what to expect. The injection areas may be slightly swollen and red, but this often fades away within a day. Bruising may be a factor, but this can usually be camouflaged with makeup. It is suggested that you avoid strenuous activities, like exercise, for 24 hours and you should sleep upright for the first night. Many patients will experience some improvements right after their procedure, but it usually takes 1 – 2 weeks until the final results develop. Restylane treatments typically last up to one year, depending on the formula used.
